Journaling Challenge: Day 18-Your inner child

“Over at our place, we’re sure of just one thing: everybody in the world was once a child.”

~Walt Disney

What types of things did you enjoy doing as a child? (building things, drawing, sports, writing, solving puzzles, being with animals, my chemistry set, organizing games, talking, playing house, etc) Do you do anything today that has similar qualities to it?
Don’t forget to link on over to the forum and share your thoughts. Journaling Challenge Forum
For the the challenge to be most effective, keep this in mind:
Be as specific as you can The more specific your answers, the more impact they’ll have on your life and you’ll have a much clearer picture of yourself. Not Judgments Don’t ask yourself these questions with a judgmental tone. They’re not accusations, or calls for you to defend yourself. They’re questions to help you discover who you are. Be honest, gentle, and nonjudgmental. No one has to see your answers. This is between you and you, and no one else. (unless you share your general thoughts in the forum) Be Honest: Honesty leads to true awareness, but it requires courage. It’s the courage to face what you fear or find difficult to accept about yourselves. When you find the courage to take ownership of your actions, thoughts, and feelings, you will recover the design of your life. You’ll be able to face your fears and find the inaccurate beliefs that created them. Take the time to Journal: I’m a night owl, so the night is usually a good time for me to center myself and journal. I’m a hot tea drinker, so I get a nice mug, make some tea, get comfortable and play Sade.  I also like going to the bookstore, I love the ambiance: I take my ipod, so I can have Sade with me:-) and get a latte. You know what time of day works for you, so set your time, get you favorite beverage, get comfortable and journal away.
How To Qualify for the FREE Journal:
At the end of the challenge, I will place into a raffle all those who frequently shared their thoughts in the forum. The winner will receive a beautiful handmade journal, from Simply Bliss.

    Dawn,

Thank you for choosing my prompt for the Journalchat pic of the day(yesterday) Whoohoo!

I do have a follow-up question: Are you saying that as adults, the inner child in us still needs nurturing and validation?

  • http://www.journalwriter.blogspot.com Dawn Herring

    Monique,
You have hit on a very vital and important place with the YOUR INNER CHILD here. I think it’s a often ignored subject that deserves a lot more attention. Nurture and validation come to mind when I think about the inner child. We all have one, and this prompt heightens its importance.

I have chosen your prompt, Journaling Challenge: Day 18-Your Inner Child, for the #JournalChat Pick of the Day on 8/18/11 for all things journaling on Twitter. I will post a link on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, my blog and website Refresh with Dawn Herring, and Refresh Journal.

You’re welcome to join us today at 4 CST for #JournalChat Live where we will discuss the timely wisdom of our journal entries: are we ready for them or not?

Thanks again for such an important focus on Your Inner Child.

    Be refreshed,
    Dawn Herring
